Background of the Study

Access Bank Plc, one of Nigeria’s largest commercial banks, has implemented various financial planning strategies to ensure its continued growth and profitability. Financial planning within Access Bank focuses on ensuring the bank’s resources are allocated effectively, managing financial risks, and meeting both short-term and long-term objectives. The bank’s financial planning processes include budget forecasting, investment strategies, liquidity management, and capital allocation (Ogunleye & Adebayo, 2023).
The banking sector in Bauchi State, where Access Bank Plc operates, presents unique challenges and opportunities in terms of customer engagement, market competition, and economic conditions. Effective financial planning allows the bank to adapt to these factors while improving overall business performance. While there is a growing body of literature on the relationship between financial planning and business performance, few studies have specifically examined this dynamic in the context of Access Bank Plc in Bauchi State. Scope and Limitations of the Study
This study is focused on the financial planning strategies and business performance of Access Bank Plc in Bauchi State. The research will primarily focus on examining financial planning strategies, profitability, operational efficiency, and growth metrics. The limitations of this study include the potential difficulty in accessing internal financial documents and other confidential information from the bank, as well as the constraints of focusing on a single regional branch of Access Bank.
